Why I'm doing this

I'm Christine, a parent of young kids.

I’ve spent years working closely with emerging technology and AI startups, including co-founding one, so I’ve seen firsthand how quickly the field is changing. Having young kids makes the questions around AI much more concrete.

AI is advancing much faster than schools, curricula and parenting norms can adapt.

I don't think preparing children for a world with AI means teaching them today's tools. Those tools will probably look completely different by the time they are adults.

I'm more interested in the abilities that might last: imagination, judgment, curiosity, critical thinking, adaptability and knowing when not to use AI.

What should I actually be preparing them for?

I don't have a finished answer for what it means to raise kids well alongside AI. Mini AI Dev is where I explore that with my own family: we try things, build things, and I document what I learn.
